How to run a simple NFL pick'em pool
Fast version: Print one sheet per player, have everyone choose one team in every matchup, score one point for each correct ATS pick, and use the final-game total-points prediction as the tiebreaker.
1. Give everyone the same sheet
Use the same week's printable sheet for every participant so the matchups, spreads, and line timestamp are consistent across the pool.
2. Pick one side of every matchup
Each player marks either the away team or home team. The spread shown on the sheet is applied when determining whether the pick wins against the spread.
3. Lock picks before the first game
Choose a deadline before the first kickoff of the week. For an office or family pool, the simplest rule is that all sheets must be submitted before that first game starts.
4. Score one point per correct pick
After games are final, award one point for each winning ATS selection. Decide in advance how your pool handles pushes, canceled games, or major line changes.
5. Use the tiebreaker
The sheet uses the final listed matchup as a total-points tiebreaker. The participant closest to the combined final score wins the tie unless your pool uses another rule.
Keep your rules simple
For casual pools, write down the deadline, scoring method, push rule, tiebreaker rule, and any prize terms before the week begins. The pool administrator is responsible for the pool's rules and compliance with applicable law.
